I don't have fireflies in my garden - which is a shame... only cats, bees, a dog and the odd dragonfly!! So please settle down with a cuppa, put your feet up and enjoy!

June & July WIPocalypse Update

WIPocalypse is hosted by Measi's Musings
WIPocalypse is run by Melissa over at Measi's Musings and is now in it's 6th year (amazing!).  The object of the WIPocalypse is to stitch on projects that you want to complete before the end of the world!

At the beginning of January I picked out 17 WIPocalypse projects to work on in 2017.  The full list of my 17 projects can be found on my WIPocalypse 2017 page.

I haven't answered the questions this time around... but if you would like to see my stitching spot have a look at my last video... I did a quick video while sitting in stitching spot - complete with stitching buddies!!  Link is here

Sometime in the near future I am planning on doing a WIP parade video so I will link that here as well and you will see my oldest WIP... A couple of years ago I did find some old WIPs which technically you could say are my oldest WIPs... but they are resting!  If you want to look at that post the link is here.

So there you go.... a little bit of an update on my stitching throughout the month of June & July.  The next check in is on Sunday 27th August 2017. If you want to see what everyone else has posted over the last couple of months, drop into Measi's blog and check out the June link up & July link up pages.

Til next time, happy stitching!

June & July Smalls Update

The Smalls SAL is hosted by Stitching Lotus

It's time for a catch up on my Smalls stitching for the last couple of months. I didn't get around to posting for June mainly because the couple of pieces that I had finished I wasn't able to show as it was an exchange gift.  July was a good finishing month for me... so here's what I have to show for the last 2 months:

Penguin & Snowman Card and Christmas Bells
Card: Free gift from Cross Stitch Card Shop
Christmas Ornament - Mary Engelbreit kit
Card finished: 24 June 2017 / Christmas Bells finished: 3 July 2017
Stitched for Christmas in July Exchange

Happily Ever After - Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery
Fabric: 32ct Belfast "Dark Fantasy" - Colour Cascade Fabrics
Threads: DMC, Jodyri Designs, Dinky Dyes (borders)
January, February finished in June; April finished in July

Dear Santa - The Little Stitcher
Fabric: 28ct linen
Threads: DMC
Just Cross Stitch Christmas 2015 issue
Finished: 19 July 2017

Truly Endless Knot II - Ink Circles
Fabric: 28ct linen
Threads: DMC, Silk N Colours (light bulbs)
Just Cross Stitch Christmas 2015 issue
Finished: 24 July 2017

Kiri Kitten (Free Gift) Cross Stitch Card Shop magazine
Fabric: 14ct Aida (decided to stitch it on a larger piece of fabric for a pillow finish)
Threads: kit threads
Finished: 23 July 2017

So that's it for my June and July finishes.  I did manage to also finish a couple of blocks on 12 Days which I will show you in the next post!

Before I go... I mentioned my first June finish in my June GG so I didn't show it above... however I can now show you that I have FFO'd and given it to my sister already - on the day that they picked up their new Golden Retriever puppy! Fate stepped in on that occasion... Henry comes from the same breeder that bred/owned Rosy's grandmother!! Me things Rosy sent him their way 😂

I finished it on a cork memo board with a picture of Rosy (the photo was from a birthday party and Rosy was Super Rosy!)  The memo board is going to sit with Rosy's ashes and have other photos pinned to it.

To see everyone else's Smalls posts for July pop over to Heather's blog and check out the link up post

Next Month – The next Smalls SAL check-in will take place on Friday, 25th August 2017 and I already have an August finish! Hopefully you will see it at the end of August and not September or October!! 😉

Til next time, happy stitching!

Christmas in July Swap

web image
I am hanging my head in shame..... I keep meaning to show you the most gorgeous exchange gift I received from Shelly... but I have been so tardy at posting lately (as you may have noticed!!) and I am only now getting around to doing it!!

So.... for those that might not know Kaye (Kitten Stitching) organised a Christmas in July swap - I joined because I can't resist Christmas and who doesn't want to celebrate it twice a year! 😄  Kaye sent us a list of who was sending to whom and away we went to stitch and send....

I sent to Astrid (Dragon Stitches & Stuff) - but more on that later!  I received from Shelley (An Arizona Stitcher)... and look what I received (it's gorgeous!)

So first up... it came wrapped in pretty Christmas fabric and tied up with string - love it!
Then when I unwrapped the fabric this is what I uncovered...

and then after unwrapping the next round of wrapping, I found the most gorgeous stitched gift...

and isn't that ornie so cute as well.... Shelly, thank you so much - I love my kitty - he is just the sweetest thing and is going to be taking pride of place at Christmas time!  And those caramels were yummy!!

So now that you have drooled over the gorgeous kitty I received in my swap... I will quickly show you what I sent to Astrid.

The snowman & penguin card was from Cross Stitch Crazy and the Christmas Bells are a Mary Engelbreit kit that I received in a giveaway pack many years ago (2013) from Anne (Doll's Musings)... my post of the giveaway win is here.  Finally managed to stitch it for this exchange, and I hope that Astrid loves it...  I also made a little scissor fob and added some little extras, some of which aren't in this picture... 😊

So that's it guys! Sorry it's been so long between posts... time is not my friend anymore!

Til next time, happy stitching
